Cookie and Tracking Notice
Version 2 · prepared October 28, 2026
The cookies and browser storage GenieGalleries actually uses, and why.
Essential
These run the site and are always on. Blocking them may stop sign-in, checkout or galleries from working.
- Sign-in session cookie (authjs.session-token and related Auth.js cookies): keeps you signed in and protects forms.
- Referral cookies (gg_ref, gg_vid): set only when you arrive through a partner's referral link, so the booking can be credited to that partner. They last up to the referral window stated in the Affiliate Agreement.
- Booking progress (browser session storage): remembers the booking form while you complete it, and is cleared when the tab closes.
- Preferences (browser local storage): your light/dark theme and any portfolio favourites. These stay on your device.
- Your cookie choice (gg_consent): whether you accepted advertising measurement. 12 months.
- Campaign tags (gg_attr): the campaign and ad click that first brought you to our photographer pages, kept on our own site for up to 90 days so we can count which campaigns lead to applications. It is never sent to an ad platform unless you accept below.
Analytics and advertising
Optional, and off unless you choose Accept in our cookie banner, which offers Accept, Reject non-essential and Manage choices equally, with nothing pre-selected. A browser that sends Global Privacy Control is treated as having said no.
- Meta advertising measurement (Meta Platforms: Facebook and Instagram). Tells Meta which of our public pages you visited (never a private link), the campaign tags in the address, and when you complete a photographer or affiliate application or pay for a booking. Sets _fbp (90 days) and, after you click a Meta ad, _fbc (90 days). Our servers send Meta the same conversions, with those cookies, your network address and browser type, and a SHA-256 hash of your email, so the two copies count once. Nothing you type in a form is sent.
- Google Analytics: not in use. If we turn it on, it will be listed here first and follow the same choice.
To change or withdraw your choice, use Your choices on this page. Withdrawing removes _fbp and _fbc from your browser and stops anything further from being sent, from the browser or our servers.
